There are so many different things to see and do in Puerto Vallarta and even more things to keep you entertained if you take a short drive. You can visit many of the historical sites or you can go on an exciting ride on the zip lines and admire the mountains and forest. If you learn Spanish, you will find that your trip becomes more enjoyable as you will understand those around you and you can get more from your experience.

Finding Time to Learn a Language

If you are like any other working man or woman on this planet then you know what I mean about never having time to do the things you want. Learn Basic Spanish before Visiting Mexico City

When you visit Mexico City you will find that there many sites you will want to see. If you have been there before you might not find it too difficult to find the destinations that you are looking for but if you have not been there you might need to ask for directions. Asking for directions is always difficult when you are in a country that speaks a language other than your own. You can make it easier to get directions by learning Spanish before you make your first visit. Even if you just manage to learn some basic phrases, learning Spanish can really make a difference in how well you are able to get around.

One of the places you will want to make sure to visit is the Museo Nacional de Antropologia, a museum that most children in Mexico City are familiar with. It is filled with information about the ancient civilizations that existed before the conquest by the Spanish and artefacts of the past. It is a fascinating place where you can really come to appreciate the history of the city.

If you want to immerse yourself in a world of fantasy and history, there is nothing like a castle to make you feel like you are in another world. The Castillo de Chapultepec was once the home of Maximiliano de Hasburgo, who was an Austrian prince. The castle was defended by army cadets in 1847 against the attacks from the United States and it now houses the Museo de Historia.

If you have been learning Spanish, you will easily be able to understand and follow directions of the locals well enough to find your way to the Piramides de Teotihuacan or the Pyramid of the Sun. It is about 45 minutes north of the city and is a great place to go to on a day trip. You can climb all the way to the top where you will find an amazing sight – the “Calzada de los Muertos.” This corridor that is a mile long leads to the Pyramid of the Moon. There is even a restaurant, “La Gruta” that is built within a real cave. There are tours that will guide you or you can go on your own.
